You are here because you are curious. Aren’t we all!
The First Tee is where we start a round of golf. Our First Tee is where you can start a new round of life. Most of us golfers have golf handicaps which mean we have played, but our success rate is not the same as everyone else.
In life, we are also at different places on the road to spirituality. Our First Tee is a place to find reinforcement, new understanding; maybe a bit of each. We have tapped into a number of existing sources for this material, and will credit those who originated it.
THE EXISTANCE OF GOD from The Man in the Mirror
(see www.maninthemirror.com)
In the movie “Contract”, scientist Jody Foster asks “What makes more sense? That an all-powerful, mysterious God created the universe and then decided not to give any proof of his existence? Or, that he simply doesn’t exist at all, and we created him so we wouldn’t have to feel so small and alone?”
“I don’t know.” responded the troubled priest who doubles as her romantic interest. I couldn’t imagine living in a world where God didn’t exist. I wouldn’t want to.”
If man wants God in his life it isn’t necessary to prove that God exists. It is only necessary to demonstrate the likelihood of God.
In the courtroom there are two standards of proof. First, in criminal cases the prosecutor must prove his case “beyond and to the exclusion of every reasonable doubt”. In civil cases, however, the plaintiff must only prove “a preponderance of the evidence”.
It is worth mentioning that neither of these two standards of proof requires the 100% elimination of all doubt. Instead, the jury or judge is to apply wisdom to the evidence they are given and make a reasoned decision.
In the same way, a wise’ man considering the existence of God isn’t looking for iron clad proof that God exists. Rather he simply wants to know, “Is it reasonable for me to believe that God exists.”

THE GOSPEL OF SECOND CHANCES - from Max Lucado (see www.maxlucado.com)
Hope. Pure and simple.
It’s not every day you get a second chance. Most of the time you’re glad to get a first one. ’Get this to me by 3 pm or you are fired’. I’m sorry but your grades aren’t high enough to admit you to the program. ‘I don’t love you any more’.
The fact is, we all fail. We do things we regret. We say things we deplore. And we hurt people we love.
But we’re not alone in this. Even the Apostle Paul was no stranger to failure.
“I do not understand the things I do. I do not do what I want to do, and I do things I hate” (Romans 7:15)
He goes on: “I want to do the things that are good, but I do not do them. I do not do the things I want to do, but I do the things I do not want to do.
Have you ever been there? Have you shared Paul’s frustration? If you have, then listen as he shows the way out of our despair.
“Who will save me from this body that brings death? I thanks God for saving me through Jesus Christ our Lord! So now, those who are in Christ are not judged guilty”. (Romans 7:24-8:1)
If I had been Paul, I might put a “Hallelujah” on the end of that paragraph. What an incredible statement. What an awesome reality!
Need a second chance? You’ve come to the right place. Second chances are the specialty of our Savior!
