Be Strong and Courageous

KEY VERSE: Joshua 1:5-9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; be not frightened, neither dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.

ON THE COURSE: Golf includes some bad breaks we deserve and some we don’t deserve. How often do we linger on the impact of a bad break on our score for the hole or for the day. Some call it ‘the rub of the green’; othesr fault the ‘golf gods’. It’s golf, pure and simple. There are some really good breaks out there, so just keep playing one shot at a time. Go back to your ‘pre-shot’ routine and regain your tempo. Set an example for others in your group.

IN LIFE: Regardless what pressures and challenges you face today, remember that God knows your name. He cares about you and wants to give you his strength and courage. He also wants you to be an encouragement to others.

SWING TIP: Strength is not a pre-requisite to success in golf or length off the tee. But ‘timing’, getting the club head square to the intended ball flight at impact, relies on good, consistent posture throughout the swing. And being able to achieve and maintain good posture is a function of fitness and core strength. Have a golf professional evaluate your posture and recommend some stretching and strengthening to firm up your core.

  • How and who prepares these in advance- once a quarter for the next 6 months
  • How are they sent out automatically and by who – our web host?
